Our weekend

This past weekend Colton went to stay with my parents in Marshalltown. I drove him there Friday afternoon and we met my mom in Des Moines on Sunday morning to pick him up. Mike and I were in a golf tourney Saturday called Cow Pie Golf. A farmer by Portsmouth mows his cow pastures down into a 10 hole golf course. Everyone brings 4 wheelers to ride on from hole to hole and it is a blast! They had about 90 golfers- so you can imagine all the 4 wheelers zipping around through these fields while golf balls are flying. It is a tourney more for the fun of it than anything else which was a good thing because I am HORRIBLE at golf. I am lucky to hit the ball once out of three swings!! Good thing we had Mike and a few of the other guys on our team that actually are good at golf!

They give out prizes for certain things through out the tourney- Mike won longest drive and his prize was a pretty nice wet/dry vac. Some of the other contests were who could hit it closest to the pond without it going in, who could hit it closest to the bucket which was just set on the course somewhere and a bunch more...they were pretty creative when it came to the contests!

Sunday we just hung out around the house w/ Colton. His smile says he must have been up to something....turns out he was emptying his diaper bag!

We finished up sand volleyball last Thursday night (got 2nd in the league and 2nd in the tourney). Softball and baseball are done as well...What are we going to do with all our time until winter stuff starts!? :)

Happy Thursday!

And....
Last night he fell alseep while sitting with Mike. We turned down the tv and heard this...

a little snoring never hurt. It was so cute! :)

Baseball and air vents

Last night Colton and I went to Mike's baseball game here in Portsmouth. It was so nice outside- perfect for a baseball game (even though they lost).
I think Colton has found a new friend. A younger girl (who has an older brother on the team) loved playing with Colton. Every time she picked him up, he gave her a kiss on the cheek. It was so funny--he wouldn't give anyone else kisses but her. Someone has a little crush.... :)
Here is a video of Colton moving along the couch yesterday...when there is something on the other end he wants, he gets moving fast!

Next to Colton's toy box is an air vent. The other day he was sitting on that side of the room- not moving- but just smiling like crazy every few seconds. I couldn't figure out what he was doing and then it hit me- he was sitting on it and there was air coming out. He is fascinated with it and every so often I catch him sitting on it. Yesterday I finally took a video of it...

9 mo checkup

Friday I took the little man to the Dr. for his 9 month checkup.
9 month stats: 23 lbs 1 oz and he is 28 1/2 inches long
We also found out he has an earache. We knew he was fighting a little cold but didn't realize his ear was bothering him- can't wait until he can tell me what is wrong!! Anyways, the Dr. gave him some medicine and we go back next Monday to have another checkup. Besides that- he is a healthy boy!
Such a little goofball Such a tired boy! With being sick, he has been sleeping a ton lately so we have been getting lots of snuggling time in :)
This video is a daily occurrence now- he is trying to climb up on everything and then down he goes...what a true boy!

Ohhh..and another note- I got a job. I am going to be the city clerk for Portsmouth. Just part time but it is from home which I'm really excited about. I found out last Friday and start on September 1st....I'm excited to start! :)

9 Month update

Tomorrow Colton will be 9 months old. We go Friday for his 9 month check up - yay for no shots this time!

As far as what he is up to at 9 months- EVERYTHING! He is crawling like a pro and pulling himself up on everything. The only time he is still is when he is sleeping! He is a little copy cat as well. Anytime you cough or laugh, he does the same. He has found his voice- and shows off by screaming at the top of his lungs (we will be working on stopping that!!)

He loves hanging out at the front window and watching all the action outside. Anytime he is outside he gets so excited.

He is eating pretty much everything we do with a few exceptions. He loves pasta, cottage cheese, fruit of any kind and of course, his juice. Haha not the greatest picture--but you can see his 4 top teeth here really well. Total teeth count at 9 months is 8.

His 'I'm gonna get you' face.

Just let me play mom...no more pictures!

Caught you! This boy is in love with remotes and cell phones.

Don't those big brown eyes just melt your heart!? He is such a sweetie - he has started giving "kisses" aka a big open mouth kiss while slobbering on your face :)

Playing with his basketball hoop...he finally can make it :)

A little message from Colton...

We hope you have a great day!!!!

Fun before bedtime

Last night Mike had a fire meeting so Colton and I had some playtime to keep us busy.
He LOVES doing patty cake now...
and below, he is showing off his "dancing" moves.
He was being so silly...
and kept trying to get the camera...
Then he started getting tired... and fell asleep early!
This blanket has become his bedtime friend. He loves to snuggle up with it while being rocked and if it is laying on the floor, he will crawl up to it and lay on it. So cute! :)

Vacation

Hello everyone! What a busy week we have had- and it's finally Saturday ( I thought Tuesday was Saturday- that's how mixed up I was this week!) Here are a few pictures of Colton from earlier this week. He is such a little goofball! Here are a few pictures of his new trick....if you put it on his head and tell him to not move, he sits there and smiles until it falls off.
Grrrrr.....
Colton stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Schneider Tuesday night and Wednesday while Mike and I headed to KC for 2 days. We went to the the Royals/Mariners game Tuesday night and then to Worlds of Fun Wednesday. And yes-we rode on every roller coaster :)
Before the gameWe checked out the bar & grill before the game inside the stadium. We sat down and about ten minutes later the Fox pregame show was taped right in front of us. It was pretty cool to see up close!
View of the field from our seats...straight down left field.
We saw Ken Griffey Jr and Ichiro play for Seattle.Senior picture pose? :)

We came home late Wednesday night to get some sleep and then headed off to Marshalltown Thursday morning to visit my family.

We all went to Zeno's pizza for supper- which has the best pizza ever!! (Colton even had a little taste and loved it!) After that, Mike played on Josh's softball team. The game was at 9:45, so by the time we got back to my parents house, everyone was tired after all of our traveling!! Colton slept so well that night-it was thundering pretty loud which woke me up- but Colton didn't move an inch.

We packed up yesterday afternoon and headed home for our softball game last night. The busy week isn't over yet- Mike has a baseball game today and tomorrow. It's been a fun week but now I am looking forward to a day with nothing going on! :)
