Daddy's Shoes

Someone likes trying on Daddy's shoes- he will put one on and stomp around thinking he is such a big boy! Saying "cheese"

Notice the sweeper and broom pan in the back...still dragging that around everywhere!

I think Colton would be happy with the sweeper, shoes and a ball!! :)

Colton has found a new love....

helping sweep the floors.

He knows right where we keep it, so he is always trying to get it out of the bathroom cupboard. He is fascinated with it for some reason!

Since he always wants to push it around, I took a few links out this morning so it was more his size and let him go at it.

He LOVED it and ended up pushing it around for 30 minutes!!

Our floors just might get a little cleaner with his new love :)

Wednesday Fun

Colton has a Barney video that is all about numbers. Yesterday I just happened to look over at him during the song "one, two buckle your shoe...three, four shut the door..." and he was trying to sing and do the actions along with the kids- but as soon as he saw me watching him, he got all shy and stopped....it was so cute! Usually he is all about everyone watching him.

Colton, where is your ear? We are working on body parts....so far his ear is the only one he always gets right. :)

He tore apart his letter mat today....so we had to have some fun with it.

Basketball lover...

Colton got a basketball hoop for Christmas this year and he is a big fan of the basketball that came with it.

He will run around the house and throw it and laugh. He gets such a kick out of this...it is so funny to watch him!

His other favorite thing- having someone pick him up so he can dunk it. He says "shoot" when he throws the ball because he wants you to shoot it and he will rebound it...

Good news....

Today we went to the ear specialist to check on his ears since having the tubes put in a few weeks ago. Everything looked perfect--good news!! Hopefully things continue to go well and he stays healthy! :)

Our days have been pretty busy lately so sorry about my lacking on blogging- I've had lots of city stuff to get done and Colton has been busy playing with all his toys. It's so nice that he can keep himself occupied most of the time- either he is playing in his tent (he likes to drag all the balls out and then throw them all back in, as well as drag all his stuffed animals in there), playing with his tractors and trucks, playing with his barn and all the animals and his new favorite thing, Legos. He likes dumping them all out and then putting them all back in. At least he likes picking them up...for now! :) Another fascination of his is throwing around his basketball- he will throw it and then laugh and go get it. He gets so amused with this- he could do this forever it seems!

I went to work on some city stuff this weekend- Colton and Mike had a guys day at home. A few pictures from their day...

This afternoon I was printing some stuff out for our city council meeting tonight and I happened to look over to Colton pushing his chair out from the wall. He proceeded to get in the chair with his book....it was so cute!

Our weekend...

We had a great weekend ringing in the New Year and hope everyone else did too!

My brother and his friend came Thursday night to celebrate New Year's Eve with us. Colton headed to Grandma and Grandpa Schneiders to hang out for the night while we just stayed close to home and went out--good thing because it was so COLD outside!

Friday Mike, Josh and his friend, Nick, braved the cold weather to go out on Josh and Nick's snow mobiles. Colton and I stuck inside for the day!

Josh and Nick headed back to Marshalltown Saturday morning. Mike, Colton, and I cleaned up the house....then I heard Mike yell for me to come here- I walked into the living room and he had zipped Colton up in his sleeping bag and Colton was giggling....so funny!
