A pumpkin for Colton

Our friends, Chad and Sarah, dropped this huge pumpkin off for Colton the other day. Chad's mom had carved Colton's name into the pumpkin when it was still growing on the vine and it turned out pretty neat once they picked it.

I brought it inside to take a few pictures- once I set it down Colton had to come investigate it.

11 Months

Hard to believe in just one month this little guy will be a year old!

He LOVES playing in just his diaper- it is so funny...the second you take off his clothes he lets out a squeal of excitement. :)

He is definitely in his climbing phase- he is trying to climb everything around the house.I made some pumpkin bars yesterday....Colton kept busy as well.

When he gets excited he tries to "run" but doesn't get to far doing that!

Wish us luck.... Shelby County is offering the h1n1 vaccine this afternoon on a first come first serve basis- so Colton and I are heading to Harlan to try to get one for him. Could be a long wait with a little guy who doesn't like sitting still for long! :)

M'Town Visit

Last week Colton and I made a quick trip to Marshalltown to visit my parents and grandparents. I had to show off my newly walking little guy :)

Also had to ride his fire truck...he wouldn't get off it!

Uncle Doug got Colton a new shirt so here are some pictures of him

showing it off. With his new shirt Colton is ready to ride with him in the combine again! I tried to get him to wear his John Deere boots but realized they are too small now! I was disappointed since he never really has worn them but he liked playing with them at least :)

For Colton's 1st Halloween he is going to be... a Cow :)
We taught him to say Mooo when we ask what a cow says...it is crazy how they pick up some stuff so quick!!
Most of the outfit is complete- just have to put the ears on his hood still.

I got crafty and attempted to make his costume- hopefully it stays together :)

I tried it on him yesterday- a little big but rather it be big than too small!! While we were taking some of the pictures he tried to walk over to me since I was holding the camera. Got a quick video of it...

and then some more exciting news...he took 7 steps last night to Mike when he came home from work! Gradually he is getting more brave and going a little further :)

Snow and Pumpkins

Saturday morning we woke up to this...

So we did a lot of this inside... and then we made some chili and cornbread...perfect for a cold, snowy day!

Colton loved eating his corn bread.

Sunday we got some pumpkins and decorated them.Colton had to check them out...

Update

Whew...it is Thursday already? This week has flown by!

Yesterday afternoon I finally took Colton to the doctor after battling a grumpy guy all week- turns out his ear was red plus his glands were pretty swollen so the doctor thought he has some of the junk going around. On top of that, he is getting more teeth in- so I am glad we went and got some medicine to help our little guy out! While we were there he was weighed- 24.5 lbs. Needless to say he gets plenty of food :)

He slept a lot better last night so hopefully he will be feeling better soon!!
